Publishing a Sexual Harassment Policy

Even if you maintain a presence among your employees and know what is going on with them, problems involving harassment issues may arise. Most managers are aware of a need to publish a policy against sexual harassment. (A sample of such a policy appears in Appendix F.) Because harassment may be unlawful for other reasons such as race, ethnicity, and disability, I usually advise clients not to limit the title of the policy to sexual matters because that seems to exclude other forms of unlawful harassment.
