Emotional Intelligence Exercise 27

In practice, nothing can substitute for good communications. Talk to each of your employees about contributions and expectations in the workplace. Ask them the following questions:

1. What do you expect from me that I don't always provide for you?

2. Tell me about a time when you were disappointed and felt that I could have taken a different action from the action I took.

3. What is your opinion about the distribution of the workload in our department?

4. How would you distribute the workload differently?

5. What do I do that sometimes causes confusion or sends mixed messages?
