The Elements of User Experience was written and illustrated using Apple PowerBook computers running Mac OS X. The text was composed with BBEdit, organized with OmniOutliner, and edited with Microsoft Word. Most of the illustrations were produced using OmniGraffle, some were created in Adobe Illustrator, and some involved a bit of both. Screenshots were produced through the magic of Command-Shift-3 and edited with Adobe Photoshop.

This book was laid out in QuarkXPress. Body text was set in the Meridien family; headings and captions were set in the Trade Gothic family.
