4. Why’s My Piece of the Pie Smaller Than His? The Gift of Inequality

In the Econosphere, inequality is the source of our discontent—also our ambition.

Now we get to the meat of it. We must dive into the source of our great discontent. Why is it that the Smiths have it all? They’re paid more. They have more stuff. Their house is larger, their car is better, their fingers are forever pruney from the long hours spent in their saltwater lap pool (and they don’t even swim laps in it; the lazy bums just float around at one end!). Surely, an injustice has been perpetrated upon us.

Give us back our share! There has been a terrible wrong! The Smiths don’t deserve it, I can tell you that much. That’s our lap pool, not theirs.
