5.1 Introduction

In previous chapters, we have constructed an explanation of the neoliberal commercialisation of science that has dominated the last few decades. But where are things headed from here? One possible glimpse of the future is a gleaming new facility, housed in an otherwise unprepossessing industrial tower block in Hong Kong (The Economist 2010c).
