Summing Up

The investigation into the historical features of Italian and Spanish capitalism and into the dynamics of big business in each country during the second half of the twentieth century has argued that Italy and Spain shared some characteristics with the most advanced economies in Europe and the United States, but also that the role and behavior of large corporations in these “peripheral” countries remained quite peculiar.
