I do a lot of public speaking, so I’ve become comfortable in front of crowds. But in 2006 I was asked to give the graduation speech at a San Francisco Bay Area media school, and on the day of the event I felt myself becoming uncharacteristically nervous. The reason? I wanted to do a good job. I felt like I had something to say, and I wanted to say it well—it was important to me not to let those graduates down. This book has been like that.
