If you shoot photos in RAW format, the first significant step in the digital photo workflow is RAW conversion. This is usually done using Photoshop plug-ins that are supplied with the camera, or using specialized standalone programs. Some of these, such as Nikon Capture NX, Phase One’s Capture One Pro, or RAW Developer, have to be purchased separately. Photoshop includes its own Adobe Camera Raw conversion software.
