The Plate
Open After Effects, and drag the folder FutureNYC_Plate from the Chapter 14 DVD materials into the Project panel. After Effects recognizes this as a .jpg sequence, or a movie. In the Project panel, drag the sequence FutureCityNYC.[000-599].jpg to the Create A New Composition icon 
at the bottom of the Project folder. Doing so creates a new comp the same size as the sequence. Run a RAM preview to look at the plate as a moving image. You’ll create your matte painting over this sequence. No doubt you’re now wondering how you’ll paint on a moving image, when the camera pans and you never see the entire scene at the same time.
