Creativity needs a sergeant major

Ready for some ‘blue-sky thinking’? Are you thinking sufficiently ‘outside of the box’?

Hear the term ‘creatives’ and an image springs to mind of floppy-haired types wafting around waiting for their muse to come to them. Companies don’t help with this. In a renovation of their offices, the BBC put garden sheds in the middle of the floors so their ‘creatives’ could get in touch with their inner selves.

But I believe creativity benefits more from a good, sharp kick up the ass.
