In this chapter, we consider the issue of using mod_rewrite to solve access control problems.

Access control is the term given to any technique used to determine who is allowed into your website and who is kept out. This can be based on any criteria, from the IP address of the browser, to the time of the day, or any other criteria that occurs to you.
