Getting value

Another financial presentation worth considering is the value added statement. This is another way of looking at corporate performance. The value added statement attempts to measure the creation and distribution of wealth. Personally, I am a bit dubious about how wealth is created by, say, marking up the price of groceries before retailing them – but there you are. Economists rely on the concept of value added to measure activity. Consequently, the corporate value added statement is directly related to national income figures (such as GDP).
