Preventing Shared Memory from Being Dumped

In the event of a server crash Informix can be configured to dump shared memory sections to disk. By default it is configured to do so. Because these dumps are world readable and contain usernames and passwords, it would be better to configure Informix not to dump shared memory. To do this, edit the onconfig file and set the DUMPSHMEM parameter to 0. Then stop and restart the server.
