Professional services enterprises provide a variety of services through efforts of time and work. These businesses include temporary placement firms, accounting firms, law firms, management consultants, administrative assistance contracting firms, computer consulting firms, office cleaning services, or any other type of organization that bills for its services. Many enterprises that are not exclusively service providers may have need for the models in this chapter because they may provide professional services in conjunction with their other product offerings. For example, firms that provide tangible or intangible goods may provide professional services to support their product offerings. This chapter focuses on the information requirements for enterprises that provide professional services.
