Capturing Action

HARVIN’S TOUCHDOWN

Most sports have an area on the field or court (like the end zone in football) that elevates activity. Athletes seem to try a bit harder in these areas, an intensity that is often matched by their opponents. Players will overextend themselves in sometimes awkward positions; setting out for the goal with a do-or-die mentality. Here Percy Harvin, of the Florida Gators, dives for the end zone against the Michigan Wolverines in the 2008 Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida. —TH
