Barbie Figure Study #2
BY MARK TANNER
This image is part of a series of fine-art figure studies on America’s favorite doll, Barbie™. The photograph was made using Polaroid type 55 positive/negative film. The texture is achieved by sandwiching the processed negative between two pieces of paper and then peeling the paper away, which clears away a portion of the processing chemistry. The processing chemicals that remain create the textured pattern. The negative is then set out to dry completely before printing.
