Being Patient
LOSING THE CROWD, GAINING THE IMPACT
I had been trying to capture a unique lifestyle image on a trip to Cuba. During a tour through a small town, I noticed a young boy walking down a crowded street waving a plastic plane as if it was flying. Instead of shooting with the distractingly busy street as a background, I waited until he passed and was isolated in front of a colorful nondescript wall. This image is a timeless vision representing children around the world lost in play. —TH
