Bay Bridge
BY RICK SZCZECHOWSKI
This image started out as a traditional darkroom print, incorporating many techniques. The image was intentionally printed one stop dark. All the highlight areas were then bleached back to give a luminous effect. The sky was burned in even more, gradating from dark at the top to increasing lightness. The lower portion was also burned in. These techniques help give the scene a dimensional quality.
