Most artists delight in change and variety, but many great painters have also returned to the same scene or subject time and again. Such was the case with Post-Impressionist painter Paul Cézanne. However, instead of coming back to themes such as sunflowers, ballerinas, or self-portraits, he repeatedly painted a rugged mountain named Mont Sainte-Victoire located near his home in Aixen-Provence, France.
