Object-oriented programming (OOP) has evolved through the years from an endearing child to an annoying pimple-faced adolescent to the well-adjusted individual of today. Nowadays we have a better understanding of not only the power but also the inherent limitations of object technology. This in turn made the programming community aware that a gainful approach to creating solid designs is to combine the strengths of OOP with the strengths of other paradigms.
