Sidestep the issue

It’s like the old joke, ‘My arm hurts in several places.’ ‘Well, stop going to those places then.’

You’ve got a problem/challenge/issue? Well, instead of trying to solve it, just create an environment where it doesn’t matter.

We automatically start trying to solve a problem, when we might just be able to sidestep it. Instead of trying to find our way around the maze, we can sidestep the whole navigation nightmare. We’ll ignore that problem, but still achieve our goal by simply cutting a hole in the hedge instead. It’s quicker and easier, playing by our own rules.
