After the life-changing experience of boot camp, I returned to Penn State and graduated in 1976. I headed to Fort Huachuca for military intelligence basic officer school as a second lieutenant. Fort Huachuca is an Army post located in the Huachuca Mountains of Arizona. The post is located at high elevation in the desert, 15 miles north of Mexico.
