“Please Wait”: Showing Progress to Your User

Waiting is an intrinsic part of the computing experience and will remain so for the foreseeable future. It’s your job as a developer to communicate that fact to your users. Cocoa Touch provides classes that tell your users to wait for a process to complete. These progress indicators come in two forms: as a spinning wheel that persists for the duration of its presentation and as a bar that fills from left to right as your process moves forward from start to end.
