Coaching—and Being Coached

This chapter addresses one of the most intense and beneficial relationships to exist in any workplace: the one that results from being coached and coaching others. This one-on-one, win/win relationship improves the lives of both participants, creating a “circle of influence” that makes coaches out of those being coached, and helps us help others in return. The key here is being committed to self-improvement and open to feedback and guidance. You will always hold the map, but a good coach is someone who holds the light for you. Coaching is another important tool in developing your confidence.
