Linked Universes and Reusability
In the Universe Design Tool (UDT), linked universes allow a designer to build one master universe, called the kernel, which then is used to build a subsequent universe called a derived universe. Linked universes have been supported for several years and multiple releases, but due to bugs in various releases, they were not widely adopted. Therefore, the vendor did not carry this functionality into the new IDT, and unfortunately, there is not currently a good alternative for sharing common dimensions across universes.
