Filter Objects

Filter objects are unique objects that allow users to access predefined conditions that the designer specifies in the WHERE clause. Filter objects are denoted with a filter symbol.

The Island Resorts Marketing universe, shown next, contains several predefined filters, such as US customer, Young adult, and Young American. Most of these filters are fairly simple.

In building filter objects, you, as the designer, must evaluate if the objects add clutter or value. Filter objects can help in the following ways:
