Creating a Data Foundation
In the previous chapter, a data foundation was automatically created when you imported the eFashion universe into your First Project folder. Within a project, you can have multiple connections, data foundations, and business layers. This is strictly for your organizational and development purposes. The business layer compiles these various elements into a single universe file when you publish it to the repository or local folder. For clarity, it may be useful for you to maintain a clean copy of the eFashion universe and create a copy or new data foundation that you can freely modify while learning the IDT.
