Multiple Data Providers

In the previous section, we discussed multipass SQL, and how Web Intelligence does an automatic join of result sets by common dimensions to allow a report to have one data provider that is made up of multiple SQL statements. In developing reports, you can also manually set up multiple data providers or queries within a document. For example, you might create multiple data providers in a single document to include queries that come from different universes or that come from the same universe but with different filter criteria.

The ability to synchronize these multiple data providers is a powerful feature that allows you to combine the data from multiple data providers into a single block on your report.
