Successful implementation hinges on widespread understanding of the strategy. As a result, you must ensure that your strategy is clearly communicated to all employees. This communication must not be a onetime, front-end exercise; it must be an ongoing activity that is an essential component of your implementation effort.

When strategies propose major changes, leaders must be prepared for resistance. People resist change for a variety of reasons, some rational and some emotional. Often, comfort with the status quo causes many people to feel threatened by any substantial change.
