Navigating with File Explorer

The Windows 8 program you use to explore your computer and its files and folders is called, appropriately enough, File Explorer. There are two main ways to coax this program onto the screen.

In the Windows 8 Start screen, type explorer and then click the File Explorer tile.

If you’re currently hanging around in the Desktop app, click the File Explorer icon in the taskbar.

Either way, you end up eyeballing a window that looks suspiciously like the one shown in Figure 5.1.
