Movies, Tunes, and More: Running Media Center
Proving that digital media is a big deal these days, some versions of Windows 8 come with yet another digital media tool called Media Center. As its name implies, Media Center is meant to act as a kind of hub for your home entertainment center.
In a basic setup, you connect your computer to your TV and you can then use Media Center to play DVDs or downloaded movies, listen to music, watch digital slide shows, view TV listings, and even record TV programs.
