After estimating the task duration and making a judgment on the estimates, you must decide on the level of detail you want to put in the initial schedule. Usually, the scheduling level should relate to the levels in your WBS or network diagram. For example, you can probably schedule a small project down to the day on the first go-around, but you won’t be able to schedule a megaproject any finer than by the month or week.
For planning purposes, you may produce the schedule at the weekly or monthly level.
