Steering the Business into the Future
When you steer a car, you’re not supposed to focus on your dashboard or even on the car in front of you. Instead, you’re supposed to look at what driving instructors call the big picture.
 
So it’s time to look up from your desk and gaze out on the big picture. Think about strategy and the course you’re plotting for your company. Ponder the nature of business information and how to use it to your advantage. Think about the risks that must be managed and about the health, safety, social, and environmental impacts your business generates. Also consider your company’s legal obligations and your role as an ethical manager.
