Sending Your Resume as an Attachment
Most employers and recruiters like to receive resumes as e-mail attachments. Their computers have powerful virus protection, so they don’t worry about opening e-mails with attachments or downloading documents to their hard drives. The most commonly preferred form for an attachment is Microsoft Word, for the following reasons:
◆ It’s a word processing program almost everyone has.
◆ A Word document can easily be dumped into a database and searched for keywords.
◆ It holds its formatting through the e-mail transfer process, as long as it’s in the correct version of Word (more about that later).
