Hardcopy or E-Mail?

E-mail is so commonplace that it’s now become very acceptable to write a thank you e-mail. On the other hand, because e-mail is the most common form of written communication, a hardcopy thank you note can make a big impression, just because it will stand out. And a handwritten thank you note, especially if the handwriting is good, will make an even bigger impression.
 
Here’s how to decide whether to send your thank you message via e-mail or snail-mail:
◆ If time is of the essence (for example, you know the person is going on a trip the following day and a snail-mail letter won’t get to him before he leaves), send an e-mail thank you.
