Follow-Up E-Mail to Recruiter

You might get an e-mail from a recruiter who’s interested in talking to you about a job you applied for online. Here’s what you should know about writing a good response:
1. Use the Reply function so that a copy of his initial e-mail to you is in the body of your e-mail.
2. Adjust the subject line if necessary to include your name. For example, if the recruiter’s subject line was, “Your resume on ABC site,” your reply e-mail could say something like, “Re: Betsy Rosen’s resume on ABC site,” or “From Betsy Rosen re: Your resume on ABC site.”
3. Write your response at the top of the e-mail window, not after the recruiter’s message.
