INTRODUCTION

OUR LIVES ARE FILLED WITH IMAGERY. Many of us have collections of images all aroundus. Photographs, old postcards, magazine pages that we“ve saved”the list goes on. All of these images, perfect or imperfect, are rife with creative possibilities. They are the raw materials that can be reimagined, enhanced, and transformed into wonderful elements to use in our artwork.

Creating altered imagery is a process that can be explored by using mixed-media collage techniques, alternative photography processes, printmaking methods, and more. It is a realm where the golden rule is “anything goes,” and personal exploration and experimentation arethe keys to success.
