Is it worth it to check out these academic popularity sites? A couple of researchers at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, attempted to answer that question in a study titled “He Will Crush You Like an Academic Ninja!”: Exploring Teacher Ratings on RateMyProfessors.com. In their own words, here’s what the researchers concluded:

The present research revealed that student postings on the website RateMyProfessors.com closely matched students’ real life concerns about the quality of instruction in the classroom.
