Oprah Winfrey, the American talk show host and entrepreneur, thrives on building a close relationship with her audience through telling stories and self-revelation. Among her early tales was that she had taken drugs, been raped as a child and, while struggling with her ballooning weight, had once eaten a jumbo pack of hotdog buns, drenched in maple syrup.
Adam Levine, lead singer and guitarist for the pop group Maroon 5 also has a tremendous rapport with his fans, ‘But it took him eight years to develop,’ said his mum. ‘At his first performances, he performed with his back to the audience!’
