‘The best leaders I know are passionate about what they do,’ reported Alan Leighton, Chairman of the Royal Mail, after interviewing some of Britain’s top business people. If the word ‘passion’ makes you queasy, then how do you feel about commitment or enthusiasm?

Research conducted by British Professor Richard Wiseman studied participants of FameLab, a national competition to find the new ‘faces of science’. Those most able to transmit their emotions to others progressed furthest in the competition, using their personalities to impress a panel of judges.
