Survival Goals
Survival is where you start. There is a relationship between basic business survival and higher goals, just as Maslow’s hierarchy of needs starts with safety and goes on to self-actualization on a personal level. Until most of your survival needs are met, it is difficult to reach the next higher level. However, in business, we can sometimes over-borrow our way into believing we are not really in survival mode (just like the U.S. government and some households).
