Activities

What people do, for the purposes of this formula, is called activities. Other than results, this is the easiest part of the formula to measure.

KFIs are the primary things that everyone within any organization needs to measure. It is the essence of their personal performance. A worthwhile objective is to be able to directly tie this activity to the results of the organization. If that connection, activity to result, is difficult to define or is unknown, it may mean the person is unnecessary, possibly incompetent, or a relative. (Forgive me, but I have often seen this in closely held organizations. The biggest problems non-performing family members cause are cynicism from other employees and a negative drain on morale.)
