Charts and graphs are especially valuable for monitoring high-payoff activities, as well as your progress toward personal or organizational goals. Good charts give you a perspective that is far more beneficial than pages of data from a computer. A chart shows you, in a clear and simple way, where you have been, where you are right now, and where you are going. Charts will elicit emotional involvement better than a stack of computer data sheets. Yet, the precise performance measurement is often distilled from these data sheets.
