Self-Discipline

Self-discipline is a basic requirement to building trust. You must be aware of what you are communicating, and why you are sharing or receiving information. Every contact and exchange you have with another person provides an opportunity to build or diminish trust. People are always watching you.

Self-discipline is exercised when you listen well to another person. It has been said that good listening is a platonic form of making love. When you actively listen to someone and you actually hesitate or refrain from speaking, it gives the person talking the joy of expressing him- or herself, as well as the time to reflect on what and how he or she is saying something.
