How Do You Do It?

Giving respect can be done in many ways; some are obvious and others are very subtle. The more obvious ways we see in specific behaviors. It is just a matter of having regard for the other person’s comfort by, for example, holding a chair, opening a door, and removing your hat indoors or when talking to another person. Try standing up when someone approaches you, or being gracious enough to ask if you may get the person a water or coffee. It is rewarding when you offer someone your seat, allow a person to go ahead in line, or actually let another driver go first in a tight traffic situation.
