Chapter 10 Radio Access Network Performance
In this chapter we describe a modeling framework for estimating key performance indicators relevant to planning and operation of cdma2000 wireless networks. The modeling framework adopts a semi-analytical approach. The obtained results are approximate because the models are based on simplifying assumptions and only limited Monte-Carlo simulations. However, the semi-analytical models give good insight into how various parameters impact the system performance. Monte-Carlo simulations can produce more accurate results. However, simulations are tedious and tend to obscure the key factors affecting the system performance.
