Often second editions of academic texts do not require much content change from that of the prior editions. However, the changes in the sports business landscape over the last half-decade necessitated considerable revisions in this text. Professional sports leagues have new owners and in some cases, new commissioners. Franchise values continue to increase, despite the economic downturn of the late 2000s.
