Glossary

This glossary assembles and defines common terms and acronyms used in this book and in the network security industry. Many of the definitions have yet to be standardized, and many terms have several meanings. Multiple definitions and acronym expressions are included where they apply. Many of these definitions can also be found on the Cisco website at http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/cisintwk/ita/index.htm.

AAA   Authentication, authorization, and accounting. Pronounced "triple a.”
