Installing an Internal Adapter in a Laptop Computer

Most new laptops include a built-in Wi-Fi adapter on a mini-PCI card that mounts directly on the computer's motherboard. If you ordered your computer without an internal Wi-Fi card and decide to install one later, or if you want to replace the existing card with a new and better model (such as a card that includes the new 802.11n specification when such cards become available), you must open up the computer to reach the adapter.
