In this chapter, you’ll build on your experience with confidence intervals and sampling distributions to make more formal statements about the value of a true, unknown parameter of interest. For this, you’ll learn about frequentist hypothesis testing, where a probability from a relevant sampling distribution is used as evidence against some claim about the true value.
